Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of self-efficacy, work motivation, and organizational commitment on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among Generation Z workers in Purwokerto City. Generation Z is defined as individuals born between 1997 and 2012; this study focused on those aged 18–27 years who had worked at the same company for at least one year. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing a survey method through an online questionnaire distributed to 107 respondents who met the specified criteria. The results of multiple linear regression analysis indicate that self-efficacy and work motivation have a positive and significant effect on OCB. In contrast, organizational commitment exhibits a negative and significant effect on OCB. These findings suggest that Generation Z workers are more likely to engage in voluntary work behaviors when they possess strong confidence and work motivation. However, high levels of organizational commitment may be interpreted differently by this generation and might reduce their willingness to engage in extra-role behaviors. This research provides valuable insights into the work dynamics of Generation Z in a developing urban context and offers guidance for more effective human resource management strategies.
