Abstract
This research is related to how job demands affect work engagement with burnout as a mediating variable in Yogyakarta during the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of job demands on work engagement, to analyze the effect of job demands on burnout, to analyze burnout on work engagement and to analyze the direct or indirect effect of job demands on work engagement through burnout. Respondents in this study were 82 health workers in Yogyakarta. The data collection method used a questionnaire with a purposive sampling technique. The analysis technique used in this research is validity test, reliability test, normality test, multicolonierity test, heteroscedasticity test, simple regression test, determination coefficient test and path analysis. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS statistic version 25. The results of this study indicate that job demands have no significant negative effect on work employees, job demands have a significant positive effect on burnout, burnout has no significant negative effect on work engagement, and burnout does not mediate the relationship between job demands and work engagement variables.
