Abstract

The existence of the internet can help employee activities and work to be more efficient and effective. It is not surprising that now the internet has turned into a primary need for employees at work. On the other hand, the use of the internet in the workplace also has a negative impact. The office internet can be used by employees for personal gain during working hours or it is called cyberloafing behavior. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of role ambiguity, role conflict and role overload on cyberloafing behavior. The sample in this study was 66 permanent civil servants in the Department of Staffing Education and Training of Sleman Regency. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results of the analysis show that role ambiguity has no effect on cyberloafing behavior, role conflict has a significant positive effect on cyberloafing behavior, and role overload has no effect on cyberloafing behavior.
