Abstract

Sectoral competitiveness is required at various levels, both at the national and regional levels. Competitiveness is at least based on locally owned resources and the ability to absorb labor. This article aims to identify sectoral competitiveness between Sleman Regency and Yogyakarta City. The analysis was carried out using a location quotient analysis tool using data from 2013 to 2019. Sleman Regency has 7 (seven) sectors that have competitiveness seen from the LQ value greater than 1, while Yogyakarta City has 10 (ten) sectors has an advantage in terms of competitiveness. Of these competitive sectors, several sectors that have the same competitiveness are the manufacturing sector, the accommodation and food and beverage supply sector, the real estate sector, the corporate services sector, and the education services sector. Meanwhile, the competitiveness of Sleman Regency that is not owned by Yogyakarta City is the construction sector. The contribution of this research is in the form of an analysis which is carried out at the sectoral level, but is complemented to the product level through in-depth interviews.
